
Nine Wolverines Named CSC Academic All-District

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Nine Wolverines from the University of Michigan men's and women's track and field teams were named to the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, the organization announced on Tuesday afternoon (June 24). Four female student-athletes were honored in Amare Harlan, Samantha Hastie, Elizabeth Tapper and Jadyn Zdanavage. On the men's side, Miles Brown, Aiden Felty, Owen MacKenzie, Jozef Meyers and John O'Reilly were tabbed.
To receive the honor, student-athletes must have completed at least one year of classes and have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average while hitting various participation requirements.
Brown posted the No. 2 time in the indoor 800-meter run performers list (1:47.25) to come just 0.03 seconds shy of the program record. At the Big Ten Indoor Championships, he was a part of the 4x400-meter relay team that took third with a time of 3:08.81. In the outdoor season, Brown's personal-best time of 1:47.04 came in at No. 6 on the program performers list and qualified him for the NCAA East First Round, where he finished 26th. Brown is a four-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree.
Felty threw for a season-best mark of 18.13 meters (59 feet, 5.75 inches) in the shot put at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships to finish 11th. His mark was second-best on the team this season. Felty is a four-time All-Big Ten honoree and a three-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar.
Harlan holds the No. 2 time on the indoor program performers list in the 200-meter dash (23.47 seconds) and the No. 6 long jump mark (6.16m/20-2.5). At the Big Ten Indoor Championships, she was part of the 4x400-meter relay team that finished fourth (3:35.90). On the outdoor performers list, her 200-meter dash time of 23.38 comes in at No. 3 and her long jump mark of 6.07m (19-11) is No. 8.
Hastie ran a personal-best 2:05.65 in the 800-meter run finals at the Big Ten Indoor Championships to finish seventh. Her personal-best 1,500-meter time of 4:15.95 comes just 0.86 seconds short of the No. 10 time on the program performers list and qualified her for the NCAA East First Round. Hastie is a four-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and a two-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar.
MacKenzie finished 19th at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 30:28.98. He ran a personal best time in the 10,000-meter run to come in at No. 10 on the program performers list and qualified him for the NCAA East First Round. MacKenzie is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar.
Meyers finished 53rd at the Cross Country Big Ten Championships with a personal-best time of 23:43.3. His 3,000-meter run time of 8:08.68 earned a 19th-place finish at the Big Ten Indoor Championships while his 3,000-meter steeplechase time of 8:50.86 during the outdoor season qualified him for the NCAA East First Round. Meyers is a five-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar.
O'Reilly ran a personal-best 1:16.88 in the 600-meter run at the Big Ten Indoor Championships to finish fourth and come in at No. 2 on the program performers list. His personal best time of 1:47.93 in the 800-meter run during the outdoor season comes in at No. 9 on the program performers list and qualified him for the NCAA East First Round. O'Reilly is an Academic All-Big Ten honoree.
Tapper set the program record in both the indoor (18.26m/59-11) and outdoor (17.65m/57-11) shot put. She finished third in the shot put at the Big Ten Indoor Championships and second at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships. Tapper competed at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships, finishing 12th and 14th, respectively, to earn two second-team All-America citations.
Zdanavage ran a personal-best 20:34.0 at the Big Ten Cross Country Championships to finish 68th and 20:41.5 to finish 50th at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional. Zdanavage is an Academic All-Big Ten honoree.
