
Wolverine Trio Set for NCAA Outdoor Championships

ANN ARBOR, Mich.-- Three members of the University of Michigan men's track and field team will head to Eugene, Ore., for the NCAA Outdoor Championships hosted by Oregon at Hayward Field on Wednesday and Friday (June 11-13) to close out the 2025 season. The NCAA Championships will air on the ESPN family of networks.
Notes
• Brendan Herger (1,500-meter run), Josh Huisman (shot put) and Trent McFarland (1,500-meter run) will represent the Maize and Blue. Herger and Huisman are freshmen, and all three will make their NCAA Outdoor Championships debut.
• At the NCAA East First Round last weekend, Huisman set a new personal best of 18.95 meters (62 feet, 2.25 inches) in the shot put to finish 10th. The mark comes in at No. 5 on the program performers list.
• McFarland finished first overall in the 1,500-meter run preliminaries with a time of 3:39.79 to advance to the finals, qualifying for the NCAA Championships with a second-place finish in his finals heat (3:44.48).Â
• Herger finished second in his heat in the 1,500-meter run preliminary round (3:41.72) to advance to the finals before punching his ticket to the NCAA Championships with a fifth-place finish in his finals heat with a time of 3:39.81.
• Action at Hayward Field will begin on Wednesday (June 11) with the 1,500-meter run semifinals at 4:21 p.m. PT.
