SPARKS, Md. -- Five members of the University of Michigan women's lacrosse team earned USA Lacrosse Magazine All-America recognition, the publication announced Thursday (May 8). Erin O'Grady earned second-team honors, Ava Class and Grace Callahan earned third team honors and Kaylee Dyer and Jill Smith received honorable mention recognition.
O'Grady was named the Big Ten Goaltender of the Year for the second consecutive year to become the first Michigan player to receive a Big Ten Player of the Year award twice in her career. She is also a two-time All-Big Ten first-team honoree and a two-time Tewaaraton Award nominee. O'Grady's 10 wins and .540 save percentage lead the Big Ten, with the latter ranking second in the nation. She has 11 games with double-digit saves, including six straight contests with 10 stops or more. She made a career-high 14 saves against Colorado and recorded 13 saves at Denver this season.
Class had a career-best 29 points with 23 goals and six assists in her fifth season with the Wolverines. The graduate-student midfielder added 12 ground balls and 21 draw-control wins while recording a career-best seven points against then-No. 5 Maryland. Class went 10-for-17 on free positions and had a .660 shots-on-goal percentage.
Callahan anchored the Wolverines' backline and led Michigan with 23 caused turnovers -- good for seventh in the Big Ten -- and 29 ground balls. Callahan was an integral part of a U-M defense that ranked seventh nationally in scoring defense after allowing just 8.89 goals per game.
Dyer has scored 43 goals and has 30 assists, leading the Wolverines in helpers and ranking second in total points. The senior attacker broke the Michigan single-game assists record with six against USC in the Big Ten Tournament and added two goals for eight total points. Her six helpers against USC ran her season total to 29, surpassing the old mark of 25 set by Caroline Davis in 2024.
Smith leads the Wolverines with 75 points on 54 goals and 21 assists. The senior attacker became the Michigan career points leader on a goal in the fourth quarter against Ohio State, recording seven points (three goals, four assists) -- all in the second half -- to bring her career total to 207. She passed Caitlin Muir, who recorded 203 points from 2018-22. Smith finished with 238 career points and ranks fourth in Michigan history with 186 draw-control wins.
