NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. -- Three University of Michigan women's lacrosse team members -- Erin O'Grady, Jill Smith and Grace Callahan -- have been named to Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association All-America teams as announced Thursday (May 22). It marks the second straight season the Wolverines have had a trio of IWLCA All-Americans.
Seniors O'Grady and Smith notched their second career honors with second-team nods, and junior Callahan earned the first All-America nod of her career with a third-team citation.
Most recently selected to play in the Maybelline WLL All-Star Game, O'Grady repeated as the Big Ten Goalie of the Year, breaking the Michigan career wins record with 25. The Massapequa, N.Y., native is the third goalie in program history with more than 300 stops and ended her career with 351 saves to rank third all-time in Michigan annals. She ranked second nationally and led the Big Ten with a .534 save percentage. This season, O'Grady had 12 double-digit save efforts, including a career-best 14 at Colorado. She was a Tewaaraton Award nominee, a first-team All-Big Ten member and notched Inside Lacrosse and USA Lacrosse Magazine All-America second-team honors. O'Grady was an IWLCA All-Region selection, the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week and the IWLCA Defensive Player of the Week once each in 2025.
Smith paced the Wolverine offense in her final season, breaking the Michigan career points record and eclipsing her standing single-season points record. The Farmington Hills, Mich., native had a team-best 82 points (59 goals, 23 assists), breaking the previous single-season mark of 77 points. The attacker was the second Wolverine in program history to surpass 200 career points, ending her time in Ann Arbor as the Michigan career points leader with 245. She finished her career on a 37-game goals and points streak, from Feb. 24, 2024, to May 11, 2025 -- the longest streak in program history. Smith also finished with 192 draw-control wins to rank second in program history. This season, Smith was also second on the team with 74 draw-control wins. She notched 18 multi-point games, 11 with hat tricks, and set the Big Ten Conference Tournament and U-M single-game records with 10 points (eight goals, two assists) against USC. She was a Tewaaraton Award nominee, an IWLCA All-Region selection, a first-team All-Big Ten and Big Ten All-Tournament Team member, and notched Inside Lacrosse and USA Lacrosse Magazine All-America honorable mention citations.
Callahan anchored a Michigan defense that ranked eighth nationally, giving up just 9.05 goals per game. The defender led the Wolverines with 24 caused turnovers and had 30 ground balls, which ranked second. She was an IWLCA All-Region selection, an All-Big Ten first-team honoree and was a third-team Inside Lacrosse and USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American.
