Notes
• Michigan will welcome UCLA to Ann Arbor for the first time in program history. The Bruins hold a slight edge, 14-10-1, in the all-time series dating back to 1984 and have won each of the last three meetings. The programs have faced each other five times in Los Angeles and six times at the Women's College World Series, most notably in the 2005 championship series, which won in three games.
• Michigan owns a 7-1 record at home this season and have won each of its last six. U-M boasts an all-time record of 635-154-1 at Carol Hutchins Stadium and Alumni Field.
• The Wolverines will honor their six seniors -- fifth-years Ryleigh Carricaburu and Kaylee Rodriguez and seniors Emerson Aiken, Lauren Derkowski, Ella McVey and Ellie Sieler -- prior to Sunday's game. Over the last four seasons, this group has contributed to a 138-76 record and a Big Ten Tournament title.
• Junior second baseman Indiana Langford and sophomore centerfielder Jenissa Conway both hit over .600 at the top of the lineup over Michigan's three-game weekend series at Ohio State. Conway batted .667 (8-for-12) with six doubles, a home run and three RBI, while Langford hit .636 (7-for-11) from the leadoff spot. They both posted three hits in second and third series games and combined for seven of U-M's 14 runs over the weekend.
• Langford leads the Wolverines with a career-high .421 batting average, a 92-point jump from her 2023 average (.329) when she earned All-Big Ten second-team honors. She batted .283 last season. She has batted leadoff over the last 32 games and has reached base more than half the time when leading off an inning (.518, 29-for-56).
• Conway has been lights out of late for Michigan, boasting a .577 batting average, 1.269 slugging percentage -- on seven doubles, a triple and nine homers -- and a .607 on-base percentage over the last 15 games. With the surge, she has improved her season batting average to .391, a 155-point improvement over her rookie-season average (.236). She leads the team in home runs (16) and RBI (41).
• Freshman designated player Lauren Putz ranks second on the team with a .402 batting average and leads with a .494 on-base percentage. After a brief lull in her offensive numbers, Putz posted back-to-back multi-hit games in the OSU doubleheader and totaled two doubles and two RBI in the series.
• Four Wolverine freshmen have led the team in hitting since 1995 -- Sara Griffin (.432, 1995), Amanda Chidester (.350, 2009), Sierra Romero (.379, 2013) and Lexie Blair (.406, 2019).
• Sophomore RHP Erin Hoehn (16-2) ranks fourth in the Big Ten and 26th nationally with a career-high 16 wins, surpassing her 2024 total of 15. She earned her 16th win in U-M's 11-3 (6 inn.) run-rule decision over Rutgers (April 14), allowing three runs on three hits and two walks with three strikeouts over 5.1 innings.
• Michigan ranks fourth in the Big Ten and 22nd nationally with 11 shutout wins on the season. Senior RHP Lauren Derkowski owns four complete-game shutouts, ranking second in the conference and 21st in the country, and has combined for three more. Derkowski also boasts a career-high five saves this season to share the conference lead.
• Derkowski earned 13 strikeouts over two outings at Ohio State to up her total to 611 over four seasons. She recently surpassed Sara Griffin (602, 1995-98) to move into the ninth spot among U-M's all-time leaders in the category and is 90 shy of the eighth spot, currently held by Lorilyn Wilson (714, 2004-07). Jordan Taylor (2008-11) holds Michigan's program record with 1,220 strikeouts.
