LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- University of Michigan sophomore outfielder Lauren Putz was named a National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division I All-American on Wednesday afternoon (May 27). It is the first career All-America citation for Putz, who was voted an at-large selection to the second team.
Putz becomes the 71st All-American in Michigan program history -- with 43 Wolverines combining for the 71 total honors -- and is the second outfielder to earn the distinction in as many years, joining junior Jenissa Conway, who was named to the third team in 2025. She is the 10th different Michigan outfielder to garner All-America honors in one of the most competitive categories.
She is also the second member of her family to earn All-America honors, joining her mother, Kelsey [Kollen] Putz, a two-time All-American at second base, who was named to the first team in 2001 and the second team in 1999.
Named to D1Softball's 2025 Freshman All-America first team, she earned All-America second team honors from the outlet earlier this week. Putz is now a two-time NFCA All-Great Lakes Region honoree, earning first team (2026) and second team (2025) selection.
Putz was a unanimous selection to the All-Big Ten first team after batting .446 in conference play with a .851 slugging percentage and .564 on-base percentage. She recorded 16 extra-base hits, including six homers, and posted 29 runs and 30 RBI to rank among the Big Ten leaders in every offense category.
She posted career highs in every offensive category this season, including batting average (.435), home runs (22) and RBI (80). Her homer and RBI numbers rank second among U-M's all-time single-season leaders, while she currently lists 11th nationally in RBI per game (1.38), 11th in slugging percentage (.959) and 27th in both on-base percentage (.544) and homers per game (.38).
