NORMAN, Okla. -- The No. 17-ranked University of Michigan women's gymnastics team scored a 196.900 in its loss to No. 1 Oklahoma, which posted a 198.200, on Friday night (March 7) at Lloyd Noble Center.
Sophomore Kayli Boozer stuck her landing on her second career vault for a 9.900, while Sophie Parenti tied a career-best 9.825 on the uneven bars with a stuck landing. Graduate student Jenna Mulligan executed a beautiful vault, scoring a 9.900, while both Peyton Davis and Audrey Sanger posted career-best scores of 9.850 on the floor.
Graduate student Carly Bauman and freshman Jahzara Ranger led the Wolverines to a season-best-tying 49.400 on the floor, scoring 9.900 and 9.925, respectively.
Parenti led off for the Wolverines with a 9.825, which was later matched by Jacey Vore in the fourth spot. Sophia Diaz hit her routine and scored a 9.850, while Bauman led the rotation with a 9.875. U-M entered the second rotation with a 49.175, trailing Oklahoma, which scored a 49.350 in the first rotation.
In just her second career vault, Boozer stuck her landing and scored a 9.900 in the third spot, following a 9.800 from Davis. Mulligan matched Boozer with a stuck landing and a 9.900, as the Wolverines totaled 49.175 in the second rotation. Michigan carried a running score of 98.350 at the halfway point, while Oklahoma led with 98.975.
U-M tied a season-best 49.400 on the floor behind a team-best 9.925 from Ranger and a 9.900 from Bauman. Davis and Sanger set career-best scores of 9.850, while Diaz posted a 9.875 for Michigan. The Wolverines entered the final rotation with a 147.750.
Bauman led Michigan with a 9.900 on beam in the final rotation, while both Parenti and Ranger recorded 9.825s, as U-M finished with a team score of 49.150 in its loss to the top-ranked Sooners.
Michigan will honor its senior class on Saturday (March 15) when it welcomes No. 14 Alabama to Crisler Center for a 5:45 p.m. meet.
