BOSTON, Mass. -- The University of Michigan men's track and field team closed out the weekend on Saturday (Dec. 6), with a trio of Wolverines running -- and one posting a top-10 time -- at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener inside the BU Track and Tennis Center.
Luke Venhuizen, Nathan Lopez and Caleb Jarema competed in the 5,000-meter run, with Venhuzien's 47th-place finish leading the contingent. Venhuizen recorded a personal-best time of 13:49.66, shaving eight seconds off his previous best and coming in at No. 9 on the program performers list. Lopez finished 74th with a personal-best time of 13:57.64, and Jarema finished 84th with a time of 13:59.77.
Michigan will open 2026 at home on Saturday, Jan. 10, hosting the Wolverine Invitational at the U-M Indoor Track Building.
