
Awards and Honors: Ranger Earns Big Ten Co-Specialist of the Week Nod

March 3 -- Jahzara Ranger
» Sophomore Jahzara Ranger competed on three events to help Michigan to victory at the Big Ten Quad Meet and a season-best score.
» Ranger won two titles, tying a career-best 9.950 on floor exercise and notched a career-high 9.925 on the vault.
» Her 9.850 on balance beam helped Michigan to a 49.475 team score.
» The honor is the first of her career.
Feb. 17 – Sophie Parenti
Big Ten Specialist of the Week
» Sophomore Sophie Parenti was named the Big Ten Specialist of the Week after competing on three events at No. 4-ranked UCLA.
» Debuted a brand new uneven bars routine and earned the event title, scoring a career-best 9.950 and sticking her landing.
» Recorded a 9.875 on the balance beam and floor exercise.
» The honor is the first of her career.
Feb. 10 -- Carly Bauman
Big Ten Specialist of the Week
» Graduate student Carly Bauman won a share of the balance beam and floor exercise titles for the second straight week.
» She recorded a 9.900 on floor for a share of the title and tied for first on beam with a 9.950.
» Bauman ranks 15th nationally on beam and 17th on floor.
» The award marks her second of the season and the fifth of her career.
Jan. 27 – Sophia Diaz
Big Ten Specialist of the Week
» Sophomore Sophia Diaz was named the Big Ten Specialist of the Week after winning the vault title against Iowa at Crisler Center.
» Scored a 9.900 on all three of her events (vault, uneven bars, floor) to win the vault title and place second on both uneven bars and floor.
» Earned her fourth career vault title.
» The award marks the first of Diaz's career.
Jan. 13 – Carly Bauman, Quincy Walters
Big Ten Specialist of the Week
» Graduate student Carly Bauman was named the Big Ten Specialist of the Week following her performance at the Sprouts Farmers Market Quad Meet.
» Tied for fourth overall with a 9.925 on the beam en route to help Michigan break the program beam record.
» Tied for second overall on the uneven bars with her second 9.925 of the evening.
» Tied for third overall on the floor with a 9.850.
» Enters week three tied for sixth nationally on the uneven bars and 10th on the beam.
» The award marks the third of Bauman's career with her last coming Feb. 11, 2025.
Big Ten Freshman of the Week
» Freshman Quincy Walters was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week after her debut performance at the Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad.
» She earned a share of the beam and floor titles, the only two events in which she competed.
» Notched a 9.950 on the beam en route to Michigan breaking the program event record.
» Scored a 9.875 on floor and stuck her first pass for a first-place finish.
» Enters week three tied for second nationally on the beam.
» The award marks the first of Walters' career.
Dec. 16 -- Sophia Diaz, Ava Jordan
Big Ten Gymnasts to Watch
» Sophia Diaz returns for her second season as a Wolverine after making an appearance at the NCAA Championships on vault in her freshman campaign.
» Diaz was a second team All-Big Ten and Big Ten All-Freshman Team honoree.
» She won six event titles, including three on vault, two on uneven bars and one on floor exercise, while recording a score of 9.900 or higher on six occasions.
» Diaz was also a WCGA Scholastic All-American and the Team Newcomer of the Year in 2025.
» Ava Jordan enters her junior season after competing on vault and uneven bars as a sophomore.
» Jordan recorded her first 9.900 on the uneven bars at the Big Ten Championship last season.
» She was named Most Improved by the team in 2025.
» Jordan also earned Academic All-Big Ten and WCGA Scholastic All-American honors.
