
Michigan to Resume Non-Conference Action Against Akron

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 6-ranked University of Michigan women's basketball team (8-1) resumes non-conference action on Saturday (Dec. 13) at noon, hosting Akron (1-7) at Crisler Center. The game will be streamed live on B1G+.
Notes
• Michigan has topped the 100-point mark four times this season after recording 104 points against Purdue in its Big Ten opener (Dec. 7). It was the second-most points Michigan has ever scored in a conference game. This is the first time in program history that U-M has had four 100-point games in a season after recording three during the 1996-97 and 2016-17 seasons. Michigan is averaging 92.8 points per game, good for first in the Big Ten and fifth nationally.
• U-M has won three straight against the Zips and leads the all-time series 6-1. Akron is the second Mid-American Conference opponent of the season for U-M after the Wolverines got an 82-40 win over Central Michigan (Dec. 3).
• Michigan recorded a 96-55 win last season over the Zips in Akron, getting a career-best 23 points on five three-pointers from Greta Kampschroeder.
• The NCAA released the first NET rankings of the 2025-26 season to start the month of December, with Michigan coming in at No. 5 in the first edition. U-M is listed at No. 3 in the Dec. 10 edition of the rankings. Michigan checked in at No. 6 in the Associated Press poll for the fourth straight week after going 2-0 last week.
• Michigan has four players scoring in double figures in sophomores Olivia Olson (18.2 ppg), Mila Holloway (13.4 ppg), Syla Swords (13.3 ppg) and Te'Yala Delfosse (11.4 ppg).
• Michigan is second nationally and leads the Big Ten in scoring margin at 40.0 points per game. U-M leads the conference in scoring offense at 92.8 points per game as one of three teams to average at least 90 points per game.
• Michigan is averaging 98.0 points per game on 54.4 percent shooting over its five home games, going 5-0 at Crisler Center. U-M has topped the century mark three times this season at home.
• Michigan's bench scored 40 points in its win over Purdue, with all seven Wolverines who came off the bench recording at least one point. U-M is fifth nationally in bench points at 35.4 points per game.
• The Wolverines conclude this four-game homestand next weekend, hosting Oakland on Sunday, Dec. 21, at noon.
