AUSTIN, Texas -- The University of Michigan men's track and field team began action on day one of the NCAA Outdoor Championships with a pair of Wolverines taking to the track on Wednesday (June 7) at the University of Texas' Mike A. Myers Stadium.
Nick Foster competed in the second heat of the 1,500 meter semifinals, beginning the race strong and holding to the lead pack over the first 1,200 meters. He ultimately finished 10th in the second heat and 21st first overall with a time of 3:46.78, missing out on Friday's (June 9) final.
Dubem Amene raced in the opening heat of the 400 meter semifinal, finishing in 46.70 seconds -- good for eighth in the heat and eventually 22nd overall. He ran a time of 46.70 to finish twenty-second overall and eighth in his heat to end his time at the championships.
Michigan will wrap up the NCAA Outdoor Championships on Friday at 7:30 p.m., when Zane Forist makes his NCAA Championships debut in the discus throw at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
