BOSTON, Mass. -- The University of Michigan men's track and field team had a solid start to the season at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener on Saturday (Dec. 2) with Tom Brady setting the program record in the 5,000-meter run.
Brady finished 31st overall in a time of 13:33.83, eclipsing the previous indoor standard (13:36.61) that he set at last season's Tiger Paw Invitational on Feb. 10.
Henry Johnson kicked off the meet in the mile run, posting a time of 4:07.70 to finish in 18th place. Nick Foster was the second Wolverine to compete, running the 3,000-meter (7:59.19) and placing 21st.
Michigan will get a break for the rest of 2023 and will return to the track on Saturday, Jan. 13 at 9:30 a.m. when it hosts the Wolverine Invitational at the U-M Indoor Track Building.
