ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 6-ranked University of Michigan men's tennis team is back at home this weekend, hosting Purdue on Saturday (April 9) and Indiana (April 10) at the Varsity Tennis Center. First serve is set for noon both days.
WOLVERINE BITES
• Michigan is No. 6 in the ITA rankings this week and is No. 3 in the Tennis Channel top-25 poll.
• The Wolverines are 14-2 on the season and riding an 11-match win streak. The last time the program won 11 straight was in 1998-99, with the longest win streak standing at 21 matches during the 1987 season.
• Two more Wolverines appeared in the singles rankings this week, a total of now six in the rankings; two pairs are ranked in doubles.
• Michigan is 64-14 in dual singles play and has lost just three matches in Big Ten action at 16-3.
• Four Wolverines are riding impressive streaks, including: Nick Beaty (10), Patrick Maloney (8), Ondrej Styler (8) and Gavin Young (6).
• Young became the first on the team to reach 20-wins this season, as he now owns a 22-5 mark.
• The Wolverines have won the doubles point in 14 of 16 matches and have two ranked doubles pairs.
• As a pair, Maloney/Beaty have won nine consecutive doubles matches.
• Maloney was named the Big Ten's co-Athlete of the Week after he won both of his doubles matches and a singles match as Michigan swept Illinois and Northwestern on the road last week.
VS. THE OPPONENTS
• Purdue is 8-9 on the season and 1-2 in the Big Ten, while Indiana in 5-11 and 0-3 in conference action.
• Michigan is 20-4 against Purdue since 2000 (77-10 overall) and is 23-5 against Indiana since 2000 (71-16-1 overall).
