
Michigan Returns Home to Host Indiana, Purdue This Weekend

After spending the last two weekends on the road, the University of Michigan men's tennis team returns to the Varsity Tennis Center this weekend hosting Indiana on Saturday (April 3) at 11 a.m., and Purdue on Sunday (April 4) at noon.
Wolverine Bites
• Michigan is ranked No. 24 in the latest Oracle/ITA computer rankings (March 31) and is No. 8 in the Tennis Channel/USTA College Tennis Top 25 poll.
• The Wolverines lost their first conference match of the season last weekend at Illinois but rebounded with a win at Northwestern to improve to 9-2 overall and 9-1 in the Big Ten.
• Michigan is in first place in the East Division of the Big Ten with a 4-0 mark.
• Ondrej Styler is ranked No. 59 in singles with a 12-5 overall record. He is 9-1 in Big Ten action (1-0 at No. 1 and 6-3 at No. 2).
• Andrew Fenty is 10-7 in singles, including a 7-2 mark in the conference (6-2 at No. 1, 1-0 at No. 2)
• Nick Beaty has won his last three matches and is 14-3 overall, which includes an 8-1 mark in league matches (2-0 at No. 4, 6-1 at No. 5).
• Patrick Maloney owns the best win percentage on the team, as he is 6-1 (.857) at No. 3 singles.
• Mattias Siimar boasts a 12-5 singles mark, going 9-1 in the Big Ten (1-0 at No. 2, 2-1 at No. 3 and 6-1 at No. 4).
• Jacob Bickersteth and Nino Ehrenschneider each have wins at No. 6 this season.
• The team of Andrew Fenty and Mattias Siimar is ranked No. 23 in doubles with a 10-3 season record with a 5-3 Big Ten mark.
• Ondrej Styler and Connor Johnson are 2-4 at No. 2 doubles.
• Nick Beaty and Harrison Brown won both matches at No. 3 doubles last weekend and are now 3-2.
• Michigan has won the doubles point in six of 11 matches this season.

Series Histories
• Michigan leads, 70-16-1, in the all-time series with Indiana. The Wolverines have won the last six meetings against the Hoosiers, including a 5-2 win in late February. Indiana's last win in the series came in 2005.
• Michigan leads, 76-10, in the all-time series with Purdue and is on a 17-match win streak against the Boilermakers -- including a 7-0 win in February. The Wolverines have not lost to Purdue since 2004.
About the Opponents
Indiana is 4-6 on the season and has split nearly all of its weekend matches. IU earned a 5-2 win over Wisconsin before falling 6-1 to Minnesota last week. The Hoosiers' No. 3 doubles pair Ilya Tiraspolsky/William Piekarsky is 5-2 in Big Ten play the season, which includes a win over the Wolverines. Bennett Crane is just under .500 at No. 1 singles at 4-5, while Andrew Redding is 5-5 at No. 2. Two other bright spots are at Nos. 5 and 6 singles, where Indiana is 6-3 in dual-match play.
Purdue enters the weekend with a 1-10 record, with its lone win coming via a 4-3 decision against Nebraska in the first match of the season. The Boilermakers have not won a doubles match all season. The Boilers have been most successful at No. 1 singles with Mateo Julio going 3-3.
