
Garrett, Muir Named Inside Lacrosse Media All-America Honorable Mentions

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Senior Molly Garrett and junior Caitlin Muir of the University of Michigan women's lacrosse team were named Inside Lacrosse Media All-America Honorable Mentions on Tuesday (March 31).
Garrett was one of six Wolverines to record double-digit points in the team's six games, scoring 11 goals and adding two assists for 13 points. The midfielder tied for third on the team with her 11 goals and carried a .783 shots-on-goal percentage, putting 18 of her 23 shots on cage. Garrett also tied for a team-best 26 draw control wins, earning four victories or more in four games, including a season-best eight draw controls against Albany.
Muir led the Wolverines through six games in 2020, recording a team-best 27 points (16 goals, 11 assists). She tied for third in the Big Ten with her 11 assists and tied for 55th nationally. Muir closed out the final three games of the season with three hat tricks, including a five-goal performance against Albany. The Honeoye Falls, New York, native also ranked sixth in the Big Ten with 4.50 points per game, notching three points or more in all six games this season.
The All-America recognition of the Michigan duo marks the first time in the history of the program at the national level. Garrett was preseason third-team selection prior to the start of the season, while Garrett and Muir were named to the 2020 Tewaaraton Award watch list.
On March 12, 2020, the Big Ten Conference canceled the remainder of the winter and spring sports seasons due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. In response, the University of Michigan suspended all athletic activities, including practices, effective that day.
