
Michigan Heads to Indiana for Two Big Ten Matches

The No. 21-ranked University of Michigan men's tennis team (10-5, 1-2 Big Ten) hits the road this weekend to play two Big Ten matches in the state of Indiana. The Wolverines will take on Purdue at noon Saturday (March 30) in West Lafayette and then travel to Bloomington to play Indiana on Sunday (March 31) at noon.
• Saturday's match will be the 84th meeting between U-M and Purdue, with the Maize and Blue holding a 73-10 advantage in the all-time series against the Boilermakers. Michigan last played Purdue at the BNP Paribas Open Collegiate Tennis Challenge on March 17, where the Wolverines won the match, 4-0, in Indian Wells, California.
• The Boilermakers come into Saturday's matchup with an 6-8 record, having most recently lost to No. 13 Illinois, 4-0, last Sunday (March 24). Purdue is led by Athell Bennett, who has a 3-3 record in the No. 1 singles spot. Bennett last broke into the rankings on Feb. 6 at the No. 108 spot.
• The Hoosiers and Wolverines have an extensive history in men's tennis, with Sunday marking the 85th meeting between the two programs. Michigan holds a 67-16-1 advantage in the overall series against Indiana, having won the last matchup on March 31, 2018, in Ann Arbor.
• Indiana enters the weekend after a 20-day break with an 8-7 overall record, having lost its last match, 6-1, to No. 15 Illinois. The Hoosiers are led by senior Antonio Cembellin, who has an 18-7 overall record in the No. 1 spot in singles play.
• Ranked No. 46 by the ITA, Michigan sophomore Mattias Siimar sports a 13-11 record and is 7-6 in dual matches from the No. 1 spot in the lineup. The last win for the native of Estonia was a 7-5, 7-5 victory against Purdue's Julio Mateo at the BNP Paribas Open Collegiate Tennis Challenge.
 • Michigan freshman Andrew Fenty has a team-leading 18-4 mark in singles play, with an 11-1 record in dual-match play, competing at the Nos. 2 and 3 spots in the lineup. Fenty also is riding a team-high 10-match win streak after winning both of his matches last weekend.
• Siimar and Fenty have teamed up in doubles for a team-high 14-3 mark while going 9-1 in dual matches.
