ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's basketball team (19-9, 10-6 Big Ten) hits the road for the final time during the regular season, heading to East Lansing to face Michigan State (17-9, 7-8 Big Ten) on Sunday (Feb. 24) at the Breslin Center. The game is set for 2 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN2.
• Michigan has won seven straight games in Big Ten play for just the third time in school history. U-M last won seven straight during an eight-game streak to end conference play during the 1999-2000 season. That stretch ran from Jan. 30-Feb. 27, 2000 -- before freshmen Naz Hillmon and Danielle Rauch were born. It is the longest conference streak under seventh-year head coach Kim Barnes Arico. Michigan also won seven straight Big Ten games from Feb. 4-March 2, 1990.
• Michigan has two games remaining in the regular season before the Big Ten Tournament in Indianapolis (March 6-10). Michigan is closing the season against second-time foes Michigan State (Feb. 24) and Wisconsin (March 3). U-M is fourth in the Big Ten standings with a 10-6 record. The Wolverines were in 10th place on Jan. 28 at 3-6 prior to the current seven-game streak.
• For the first time in school history, Michigan has reached the 10-win plateau in conference play in three straight seasons. U-M went 11-5 in 2016-17, 10-6 last season and sits at 10-6 this season. It is just the eighth time U-M has reached 10 wins in conference play, with three coming under head coach Kim Barnes Arico.
• The Wolverines lit up the scoreboard in their last game, scoring 86 points against Rutgers on Thursday (Feb. 21). It was the first time the Scarlet Knights allowed a team to score more than its scoring average all season. Michigan was the first team to top 80 points against the Scarlet Knights since Ohio State scored 82 in last year's Big Ten Tournament (March 2, 2018). U-M's 86 points were its second-highest total during Big Ten play this season (90 vs. Iowa, Feb. 1).
• Michigan and Michigan State are meeting for the second time this season after the Spartans came away with a 77-73 win over Michigan in Ann Arbor (Jan. 27). Michigan is 3-0 this season in the second game against an opponent after picking up wins over Iowa (Feb. 1), Nebraska (Feb. 7) and Indiana (Feb. 14). U-M also will face Wisconsin again in the season finale. Michigan faced four of its five home-and-home opponents on the road first.
• Michigan State has lost three straight games after dropping a 77-70 decision to Ohio State on Thursday (Feb. 21). MSU has four players scoring in double figures in Shay Colley (15.3 ppg), Jenna Allen (12.6 ppg), Nia Clouden (11.8 ppg) and Taryn McCutcheon (10.5 ppg). The Spartans are averaging 77.3 points per game on 44.8 percent shooting while allowing 68.1 points per contests on 41.7 percent shooting.
