
Michigan Returns Home to Host Northwestern on Tuesday

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's basketball team (10-5, 1-2 B1G) returns home to host Northwestern (9-5, 2-1 B1G) on Tuesday evening (Jan. 8) at Crisler Center. Tip is set for 7 p.m., with free youth admission and the Workweek Hustle promotion in effect. Fans can get a ticket, hot dog and drink for just $6.
• Michigan is back at home for its second conference game of the season, hosting Northwestern in the teams' lone meeting this season. U-M is 6-0 at Crisler Center this season, most recently knocking off No. 12-ranked and previously unbeaten Minnesota, 76-60. Michigan is averaging 81.3 points per game on 46.3 percent shooting at home while allowing just 47.0 points per contest on 33.2 percent shooting.
• Through just a week and a half of the Big Ten schedule, only two teams are unbeaten at 3-0 in Indiana and Rutgers. In addition, home teams so far are a combined 16-5 in conference play. Rutgers, Indiana, Illinois, Maryland and Nebraska are the only teams to pick up wins on the road as nine teams have not lost a home conference game so far.
• Northwestern (9-5, 2-1 B1G) enters the contest after a 70-62 win over No. 15-ranked Michigan State on Thursday (Jan. 3). NU is averaging 68.9 points per game on 40.2 percent shooting while allowing 56.8 points per game on 35.7 percent shooting. The Wildcats feature three double-digit scorers in Lindsey Pulliam (15.2 ppg), Abi Scheid (11.8 ppg) and Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah (10.8 ppg, 10.9 rpg), with Jodan Hamilton chipping in 9.8 points per game. Northwestern leads the all-time series against Michigan, 38-35, but the Maize and Blue has won 14 of the last 15 against the Wildcats.
• Senior Hallie Thome has moved into third place on Michigan's all-time scoring list, pushing her total to 1,869 points. Thome is behind all-time leader Katelynn Flaherty (2,776) and Diane Dietz (2,076) on Michigan's all-time scoring list. In addition, Thome is up to 768 career boards (8th). Thome is the only Wolverine in school history to have at least 1,800 points and 700 rebounds in a career. She was also named a Senior CLASS nominee earlier this season, one of 30 women's basketball players recognized.
• Senior Nicole Munger needs just one more three-pointer to become the seventh Wolverine in school history with 150 triples in a career. Munger has 149 career triples on 39.9 percent shooting. Her 39.9 percent from three-point range is the second-best percentage in school history.
