ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's basketball team (12-7, 3-4 Big Ten) will be back on the road when it travels to Bloomington, Indiana, to face the Hoosiers (15-4, 4-3 Big Ten) on Thursday evening (Jan. 24) at Assembly Hall. The game is set for 6 p.m. and will be broadcast live on Big Ten Network.
• Michigan's contest at Indiana marks the second time back in the Hoosier state for a pair of Indiana natives. Amy Dilk (Carmel) was named Indiana Miss Basketball in 2018, with Emily Kiser (Noblesville) joining her on the Indiana All-Star team. Dilk scored 16 points with six assists in her return to the state against Purdue (Jan. 5). The pair will also be back in Indiana for the Big Ten Tournament in March.
• Freshman Amy Dilk handed out 10 assists against Ohio State (Jan. 17), marking her first career game with double figures in helpers. She is the first Wolverine to tally at least 10 assists in a game since Siera Thompson dished out 10 on Jan. 7, 2017, against Ohio State. Dilk is ninth in the conference, and first among freshmen, with 4.5 assists per game.
• Michigan has gotten some major contributions from the freshman duo of Amy Dilk and Naz Hillmon. Dilk has started all 19 games, ranking 11th in the Big Ten among freshmen in scoring (7.4 points per game) and first in assists (4.5 per game). Dilk has scored in double figures six times this season after turning in 12 points at Maryland (Jan. 12). Hillmon is second among Big Ten freshmen in scoring (12.2 ppg), fourth in rebounding (6.5 per game) and first in field-goal percentage (.702). Hillmon has three double-doubles and has been named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week three times this season.Â
• U-M is looking for its first win away from Crisler Center during Big Ten action. U-M is playing its fifth road conference game before playing the next two games at home against Michigan State and Iowa. U-M will seek its first win over Indiana at Assembly Hall since a 70-58 win on Feb. 19, 2014.
• The Wolverines found a new way to win when they came away with a 62-58 win over Ohio State on Sunday (Jan. 20). It was Michigan's lowest point total in a win since knocking off Nebraska, 69-64, in overtime last season (Jan. 13, 2018). It was only the third win over the last two seasons that Michigan scored fewer than 70 points.
• Indiana (15-4, 4-3 Big Ten) fell out of the top 25 this past week after dropping a pair of contests to Northwestern and Purdue. IU is averaging 72.3 points per game on 44.3 percent shooting while allowing 62.6 points per contest on 38.7 percent shooting. Indiana has four double-figure scorers in Ali Patberg (16.7 ppg), Brenna Wise (13.3 ppg), Jaelynn Penn (12.6 ppg) and Bendu Yeaney (10.2 ppg). Indiana holds a 44-28 lead in the all-time series against the Wolverines, but Michigan has won 12 of the last 14 games between the teams.
