
Wolverines to Close Calendar Year at Home vs. Undefeated Gophers

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's basketball team (9-4, 0-1 B1G) will end the 2018 calendar year by hosting No. 12-ranked Minnesota (12-0, 1-0 B1G) on Monday (Dec. 31) at Crisler Center at 2 p.m. Tickets to the game are just $1, and fans can receive a 20 percent discount at the MDen at Crisler.
• Senior Nicole Munger needs just three more three-pointers to become the seventh Wolverine in program history with 150 triples. Munger has hit 147 three-pointers on 40.3 percent shooting for her career and is one of two players in school history to shoot at least 40 percent from behind the arc.
• Michigan will face its fifth ranked opponent of the season in No. 12 Minnesota after squaring off against No. 21 Missouri, No. 10 Texas, No. 13 NC State and No. 22 Marquette during the non-conference season. Michigan picked up a win against No. 21 Missouri at the Gulf Coast Showcase. Michigan faced all four of those opponents away from Crisler, playing Missouri and Texas at the Gulf Coast Showcase and playing true road games at NC State and Marquette. The last time Michigan hosted a ranked opponent was Feb. 22, when U-M came away with a 71-65 win over No. 13-ranked Maryland.
• Michigan played just five games at home during the non-conference season, tying with Ohio State for the fewest home games in the Big Ten. U-M is 5-0 at Crisler Center this season, averaging 82.4 points per game on 47.1 percent shooting while allowing just 44.4 points per game on 31.1 percent shooting. Michigan has three players scoring in double figures at home in Naz Hillmon (16.2 ppg), Hallie Thome (15.4 ppg) and Deja Church (10.6 ppg). U-M is also cleaning up on the glass at home, nearly doubling up its opponents at 47.0 to 25.6 boards
• Senior Hallie Thome has moved into third place on Michigan's all-time scoring list, pushing her total to 1,839 points. Thome is behind all-time leader Katelynn Flaherty (2,776) and Diane Dietz (2,076) on Michigan's all-time scoring list. In addition, Thome is up to 755 career boards (9th). Thome is the only Wolverine in school history to have at least 1,800 points and 700 rebounds in a career. She was also named a Senior CLASS nominee earlier this season, one of 30 women's basketball players recognized.
• Minnesota (12-0, 1-0 B1G), ranked No. 12 in the Dec. 24 Associated Press poll, comes to Crisler Center as one of nine remaining unbeaten teams in the country. The Golden Gophers picked up a 74-56 win over Wisconsin to open up Big Ten play on Friday (Dec. 28). Minnesota features four double-figure scorers in Kenisha Bell (19.3 ppg), Destiny Pitts (14.2 ppg), Annalese Lamke (11.1 ppg) and Taiye Bello (10.3 ppg) as the Gophers are scoring 74.2 points per game on 43.5 percent shooting. Minnesota is third in the Big Ten in scoring defense at 53.3 points per game. This game marks just the third road game for the Gophers this season.
• The Wolverines have won three of the last four games in the series against the Gophers, including the last two games at Crisler Center.
