
Wolverines Improve Road Score in Loss at Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. – The No. 8 University of Michigan women's gymnastics team boosted its road score with a 196.525 in its first loss of the season at No. 12 Nebraska on Saturday (Jan. 27).
U-M bounced back from a 194.975 last week to score almost two points higher this weekend.
The Wolverines earned one event title as junior captain Emma McLean continued to impress on floor. She scored a 9.950 on the event for her sixth-career floor win.
Senior Paige Zaziski played a big role in the team's success as she scored a 39.400 to finish second in the all-around. She tied for third on vault with a 9.859, tied for second on uneven bars with a 9.875, tied for third on balance beam with a 9.850 and tied for seventh with a 9.825 on floor.
Fellow senior Brianna Brown was also in the all-around for the first time this season, adding vault to her lineup. She finished with a 39.300 with an 9.850 on beam and floor.
Freshman Lauren Farley continued to hit for U-M as well, as she anchored bars for the first time with a 9.850 and had a 9.825 on beam.
The Wolverines scored above a 49.000 on three of their rotations but struggled on vault for a second straight week on the road.
Michigan will return home where they have had two highly successful meets so far this season. U-M will host Maryland in another Big Ten matchup next Sunday (Feb. 4) at 2 p.m. in Crisler Center.
