Coben Qualifies for Repeat Appearance at NCAA Meet

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Sophomore diver Jason Coben (Marple Newtown Pa./Marple Newtown HS) of the University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team qualified for the NCAA Championships with his performance at the NCAA Zone C Diving Meet on Friday and Saturday (March 15-16) at Purdue University's Boilermaker Aquatic Center.

The 2002 Big Ten Conference platform diving champion, Coben finished third on the 10-meter platform at the zone meet with a score of 455.95 in the meet's final event. He placed ninth in Friday's three-meter competition (476.70).
Coben was one of six male divers to automatically qualify from Zone C, joining Knowling and Chris Monson from Ohio State, Simon Chrisander and Timo Klami from Iowa, and Indiana's Marc Carlton.
Coben and 10 Wolverine swimmers will represent U-M at the NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships, which will be held March 28-30 at the University of Georgia in Athens, Ga.
