Michigan Men's Golf National Champions
1934 National Champions
(Through 2023-24 Season)
The University of Michigan men's golf program won back-to-back national championships in 1934 and 1935 under the guidance of coach Thomas Trueblood, and the three Wolverines have claimed individual national titles: John Fischer (1932), Chuck Kocsis (1936) and Dave Barclay (1947). More recently, U-M captured an NCAA regional championship in 2011, aided by Lion Kim's co-medalist performance, and Kyle Mueller was an NCAA regional champion as a senior in 2018 after sharing second place as a freshman in 2015. The Wolverines also reached the match-play national semifinals in 2009, the first year for the current NCAA Championships format.
Note: The first golf championship sponsored by the NCAA was in 1939. Prior to that, the National Intercollegiate Golf Association held the annual tournament (1897-1938).
