Notes
• Michigan split its series last weekend at No. 10 Illinois and Northwestern. The Wolverines are now 7-7 overall and 3-3 in the Big Ten.
• Bjorn Swenson clinched a 4-3 match for the Wolverines on Sunday against the Wildcats. Trailing 3-0, Michigan got wins from Max Dahlin, Mert Oral and Pierce Shaya before Swenson delivered the win. It marked his third match clincher of the year.
• Swenson is ranked No. 73 in the ITA singles rankings with a 14-7 record. He is 6-3 at No. 2 singles, going 2-1 against Big Ten competition with a 12-6 career record against conference opponents.
• Dahlin's 20-3 singles record has him at No. 10 in the ITA singles rankings. He is 11-1 at No. 1 singles, 4-0 in the Big Ten, and is 9-2 when squaring off against other ranked opponents. The Karlstad, Sweden, native is on a nine-match win streak, matching his nine-game win streak from the fall, when he earned All-America honors.
• Rounding out the top of the lineup is Mert Oral, playing at the No. 3 position. The Ann Arbor native is on a career-long seven-match win streak and is 8-2 in dual play, 3-0 in the Big Ten and 15-10 overall this season.
• Michigan has rebounded after dropping the doubles point three times this season, including on Sunday at Nebraska. When the Wolverines win it, they are 3-1.
• Dahlin and Shaya are the team's strongest doubles team, owning a 5-1 record at the No. 1 position.
• The Wolverines are seeking their first win over a top-25 opponent this season, as they are 0-5 against them so far. The squad owns a 6-1 record when playing teams outside the top 25.
• The Wolverines are looking for their first win over UCLA, as the Bruins lead 8-0 in the all-time series. USC leads 9-3 in the all-time series, including a 4-0 decision last year. Last season in Los Angeles, Michigan was without its top two players, forcing the Wolverines to adjust their lineup.
• UCLA is ranked No. 20 with an 11-3 overall record and is in the midst of a six-match win streak. The Bruins are 5-0 in the Big Ten, sitting in first place. Emon Van Loben Sels (33), Spencer Johnson (66) and Rudy Quan (119) are ranked in singles, and three combinations are ranked in doubles: Johnson/Van Loben Sels (32), Quan and Aardarsh Tripathi (39) and Tripathi/Johnson (73).
• The Trojans are 12-4 on the season and 4-1 in the Big Ten, and check in at No. 24 in the ITA rankings. USC does not have any ranked singles players but does have a ranked doubles team in Andrin Casanova/Jack McCarthy (68).
