
Michigan to Head Back on Road, Travels to Penn State

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 9-ranked University of Michigan women's basketball team (12-2, 3-1 Big Ten) hits the road for the third time in the last four games, heading to Penn State to face the Lady Lions (7-8, 0-4 Big Ten) on Thursday evening (Jan. 8) at Rec Hall. Tip is set for 6 p.m., and the game will be streamed live on B1G+.

• Michigan is back on the road for the third time in the last four games, heading to Penn State for its lone contest this season against PSU. U-M is 2-1 in true road contests while also holding a 2-1 mark in neutral-site games.
• U-M has won 10 straight and 13 of the last 14 against the Lady Lions. U-M recorded a 78-68 win over Penn State last season at Crisler Center behind 24 points from Syla Swords. Penn State leads the all-time series 32-22.
• Michigan, ranked No. 6 in the latest NET rankings, picked up its third Quad 1 win last time out. U-M rallied from as many as 12 down to beat Minnesota 70-60 at Crisler on Monday night (Jan. 5). The Golden Gophers are currently No. 15 in the NET. U-M also has Quad 1 wins at Oregon (92-87, Dec. 29) and against Notre Dame (93-54, Nov. 15).
• Olivia Olson has scored in double figures in all 14 of Michigan's games this season, averaging 18.0 points per game on 47.4 percent shooting. She has recorded five 20-point games and a pair of double-doubles this season. Olson ranks ninth in the Big Ten in scoring as one of nine players to average at least 18.0 points per game. She is averaging 18.8 points per game in four Big Ten Contests.
• Michigan was down by as many as 12 points before rallying for a 70-60 win over Minnesota last time out. It was the first time Michigan won a game that it trailed at the half this season, outscoring the Gophers 42-31 in the second 20 minutes. It was also the first time the Wolverines won a game this season when getting beat on the glass. Minnesota held a slim 35-33 advantage, but Michigan outrebounded the Gophers in the second half (16-12).
• Michigan has started conference play with a 3-1 record, one of six teams that sit at 3-1 through four games.
• Michigan moved to No. 9 in the latest Associated Press poll. It is the seventh straight week that Michigan has been in the top 10, the longest streak in the top 10 in program history. Michigan was in the top 10 for six straight weeks during the 2021-22 season. That streak started with the Jan. 17, 2022 poll and ran through the Feb. 21, 2022 poll.
• Kendall Dudley was key in the second half of Michigan's win over Minnesota, scoring all seven of her points in the second 20 minutes as the Wolverines rallied to collect the win. She was 3-for-4 from the floor and 1-for-2 at the line in the second half, highlighted by making a layup on the final possession of the third quarter. She played a career-high 26 minutes in the contest and drew a team-best four fouls.
• Michigan returns to Crisler Center on Sunday (Jan. 11) to host Wisconsin and honor Diane Dietz by raising her No. 21 to the rafters. The pregame ceremony will start at approximately 1:45 p.m., with tip set for 2 p.m.
