
Michigan Nabs Five Top-10 Program Marks at Simmons-Harvey Invitational

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's track and field team concluded the second of two straight home meets on Saturday (Jan. 17), hosting the Simmons-Harvey Invitational at the U-M Indoor Track Building and posting multiple top-10 program marks.
Chyler Turner recorded a personal-best 8.34 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles preliminaries before improving to an 8.30 in the finals to finish second. Her finals time is tied for seventh on the program performers list.
In the 60-meter dash, Keyanna O'Tey advanced to the finals with a preliminary time of 7.49 before winning the event in 7.51. O'Tey also captured the 200-meter dash title with a time of 24.24, just 0.10 seconds shy of the No. 10 mark on the program performers list. Trinity Henderson posted a personal-best 55.44 in the 400-meter dash to finish second.
The Maize and Blue claimed the top two spots in the 800-meter run, with Emmry Ross finishing first in 2:04.52 and Stephanie Bertram finishing second. Ross's time ranks No. 7 on the program performers list, while Bertram's is No. 10.
Kourtney Rathke cleared a personal-best 4.17 meters (13 feet, 8.25 inches) in the pole vault to place second, marking the second straight week the sophomore has improved her mark. Her clearance ranks No. 5 on the program performers list. In the high jump, Gabriella Newman earned the win by clearing 1.72 meters (5-7.75).
Michigan went 1-2 in the long jump, led by Amare Harlan's winning mark of 6.14 meters (20-1.75), followed by Maya Anderson in second at 5.89 meters (19-4). Harlan's mark was just 0.02 meters shy of her personal best.
Abigail Russell recorded two top-five finishes on the day, placing third in the shot put with a season-best mark of 15.83 meters (51-11.25) and finishing second in the weight throw with a personal-best 19.31 meters (63-4.25). Her weight throw mark ranks No. 5 on the program performers list.
Elizabeth Tapper made her season debut with a victory in the shot put, posting a mark of 16.69 meters (54-9.25), while Trinity Franklin added a season-best throw of 15.22 meters (49-11.25).
The Wolverines will have a week off before traveling to Arkansas for the Razorback Invitational on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 30-31.
