
Seven Wolverines Named CSC Academic All-District

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Seven University of Michigan track and field student-athletes were named to the 2025-26 Academic All-District Team, as announced by College Sports Communicators on Tuesday afternoon (June 23).
To receive the honor, student-athletes must have completed at least one year of classes and have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average while hitting various participation requirements.

Miles Brown
Brown set the collegiate record in the 600-meter run (1:14.67) at the Big Ten Indoor Championship, picking up gold in the event as well as the distance medley relay. The graduate student was part of the program-record-setting DMR team (9:14.80), the No. 3 time on the NCAA all-time all-conditions list, that qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships and finished fourth for first team All-America honors. A seven-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, Brown set the outdoor 800-meter run program record (1:44.68) and is tied for No. 19 on the NCAA performers list. The Novi, Mich., native finished seventh in the 800-meter run at the NCAA Outdoor Championships for first team All-America honors. Brown is pursuing a master's degree in chemical biology.
Amare Harlan
Harlan finished third in the long jump at the Big Ten Indoor Championships with a personal-best 6.36 meters (20 feet, 10.5 inches), just 0.02 meters shy of the program record, and seventh in the 60-meter dash with a personal-best time of 7.38 seconds to come in at No. 4 on the program performers list. The Ogden, Utah, native finished sixth at the NCAA East First Round in the long jump with a personal-best mark of 6.37m (20-10.75), earning an NCAA Outdoor Championships berth and tying her personal best to finish 13th for second team All-America honors. She also ran a leg of the program-record-setting 4x100-meter relay (43.83) at the NCAA East First Round, finishing 16th. Harlan is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and a secondary education major.
Samantha Hastie
Hastie finished fifth in the mile run at the Big Ten Indoor Championships with a time of 4:41.73. Her season-best mile time of 4:41.50 came in at No. 14 in the Great Lakes Region. At the Big Ten Outdoor Championships, the graduate student finished 15th (4:24.31) in the 1,500-meter run and advanced to the NCAA East First Round, where she finished 44th (4:23.40). Hastie is a six-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and a three-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar. The Ann Arbor native is pursuing a master's degree in big data analytics.
Brendan Herger
Herger earned gold in the distance medley relay at the Big Ten Indoor Championships and was part of the program-record-holding distance medley relay team (9:14.80), the No. 3 time on the NCAA all-time all-conditions list, that qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships and finished fourth for first team All-America honors. The sophomore set the No. 2 time on the program performers list in the 1,500-meter run (3:34.06) before finishing third at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships. A two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, Herger placed 10th in the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 1,500-meter run to earn second team All-America honors for the second straight year.
John O'Reilly
O'Reilly ran a personal-best 1:15.86 in the 600-meter run to finish third at the Big Ten Indoor Championships, the No. 2 time on the program performers list. His personal-best time of 1:47.38 in the indoor 800-meter run comes in at No. 4 on the program performers list, while his outdoor 800-meter run time of 1:46.59 is No. 7. The junior qualified for the NCAA East First Round in the 800-meter run, advancing to the finals and finishing eighth. O'Reilly is a business administration major and a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree.
Kourtney Rathke
Rathke finished eighth in the pole vault at the Big Ten Indoor Championships with a mark of 4.15m (13-2.75) and 14th in the long jump (5.96m/19-6.75). Her personal bests of 4.17m (13-8.25) in the pole vault and 6.02m (19-9) in the long jump come in at No. 5 and No. 10 on the program performers lists, respectively. At the Big Ten Outdoor Championships, the Boulder, Colo., native placed 11th in the pole vault with a personal-best mark of 4.13m (13-6.5) to advance to the NCAA East First Round and finish 23rd (4.07m/13-4.25). Rathke is an Academic All-Big Ten honoree.
Elizabeth Tapper
Tapper finished fourth in the shot put at the Big Ten Indoor Championships with a season-best mark of 17.38m (57-0.25), the No. 10 mark in the NCAA. The junior advanced to the NCAA Indoor Championships, finishing eighth to land on the podium and earn first team All-America honors for the first time in her career. Tapper finished 12th at the NCAA East First Round in the shot put (16.82m, 55-2.25) to earn her second-straight NCAA Outdoor Championships berth. The Greensburg, Pa., native finished seventh in the shot put with a season-best mark of 17.54m (57-6.5) and earned first team All-America honors. Tapper is a biomolecular science major and a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree.
