ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 12-ranked University of Michigan field hockey team (5-2, 1-0 Big Ten) will head east for a pair of road matchups this weekend. The Wolverines will face No. 10 Maryland (5-2, 1-0 Big Ten) on Friday (Sept. 26) at 5 p.m. at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex in College Park, Md., before wrapping non-conference play against Old Dominion (3-4) on Sunday (Sept. 28) at noon at the LR Hill Sports Complex in Norfolk, Va.
Notes
• Michigan saw its five-game winning streak snapped in a 3-1 setback to James Madison last Sunday (Sept. 21). During the streak, the Wolverines outscored opponents 25-3, posted three shutouts, and outshot and out-cornered each opponent, including a 29-10 shot margin against JMU.
• The Wolverines are 1-0 in Big Ten play after a 5-0 win over Michigan State (Sept. 19). U-M has claimed three Big Ten regular-season titles and four tournament crowns in the last eight years, including the 2024 Big Ten Tournament championship.
• Michigan ranks eighth nationally in scoring margin (2.43) and 10th in goals per game (3.71). The Wolverines are tied for fourth with three shutouts this season.

• Michigan has outscored opponents 20-4 in the second half this season, including a 12-1 margin in the fourth quarter. Last year, U-M held a 15-4 edge in fourth-quarter scoring.
• Goalkeepers Hala Silverstein and Caylie McMahon have combined for three shutouts. Michigan carries a 1.30 goals-against average while limiting opponents to 8.4 shots and 2.8 corners per game.
• Maryland (5-2, 1-0 Big Ten) opened league play with a 3-1 win over Penn State. The Terps are led by Jordyn Hollamon (four goals) and Maci Bradford (three goals, four assists). Goalkeeper Alyssa Klebasko owns a 1.02 GAA. Michigan is 6-22 all-time against Maryland but 4-4 since 2019. The teams split last year's meetings, with UMD winning in the regular season and U-M taking the Big Ten Tournament semifinal, 4-3.
• Old Dominion (3-4) earned a 2-0 win over Providence in its last outing (Sept. 19). Sian Emslie (four goals, three assists) and Josie Painter (five goals) pace the Monarchs.
