
Canadian Collegiate Reduced to 36 Holes by Weather; Michigan Fifth After 18

» Following heavy morning storms, the Canadian Collegiate Invitational was reduced to a 36-hole format. After a lengthy delay, the 12-team field was able to complete the first round, with Michigan posting a 295 to stand fifth.
» Mara Janess paced the Wolverines with a steady 71 (-1), highlighted by three birdies and 13 pars, tying her for 11th. She was one of just 13 players in the 66-golfer field to card a sub-par round.
» Making her collegiate debut, freshman Vanessa Zhang showed poise after dropping to four-over through 14 holes. She responded with three straight birdies to close at 73 (+1), earning a share of 19th place.
