
Maize and Blue Heads to East Lansing for Spartan Invite/B1G Preview

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's cross country team returns to competition on Friday, Sept. 12, traveling to East Lansing, Mich., for the Spartan Invite/B1G Preview at Michigan State in its road opener.
Notes
• U-M is ranked fourth in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association preseason regional rankings.
• The Wolverines opened the regular season on Aug. 29 in Dexter, Mich., hosting the Michigan Open, a non-scoring meet.
• Michigan entered 10 runners and claimed four of the top 10 spots; three unattached Wolverines also finished in the top 10.
• Sophomore Stephanie Bertram won her debut in 17:34.5.
• Penelopea Gordon finished fifth (17:52.9), followed by Gabbie Michael (17:53.1) in sixth and Anjali Hocker Singh (17:53.8) in seventh. All competing Wolverines, in uniform or unattached, finished under 20 minutes.
• Along with Bertram, Sophie Cloutier, Coraline Haggarty, and Emma Thomas made their Wolverine debuts at the Michigan Open.
• Natalie VanOtteren, Hannah Pricco, and Jadyn Zdanavage are expected to make their season debuts.
