ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's soccer team (2-0) hits the road for the second time this season to match up with Alabama (2-0) on Thursday (Aug. 21) in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The fixture will air live from Alabama Soccer Stadium at 7 p.m. CT on SEC Network+.
• Michigan is undefeated in its first two matches for the fourth time in the Jennifer Klein era. The last time the Wolverines started a season 2-0 was in 2021 when the squad won their first four games.
• U-M is 2-0 against Alabama in the series dating back to 1999. Last season, then-freshman Elle Ervin buried the game-winning goal to help Michigan down No. 24 Alabama, 1-0, in Ann Arbor.
• Ervin has started the 2025 season hot, logging a goal and an assist in the season-opener against Villanova and adding another goal in a 4-0 throttling of Detroit Mercy last Sunday.
• Junior Gabrielle Prych leads the squad in points through two games after pouring in her first-career multi-goal outing against the Titans. Prych also chipped in the game-winning goal off an Ervin assist against Villanova. Together, the forward duo has contributed 11 combined points in two games.Â
• Prych also collected Michigan's first Big Ten Weekly Award since Sept. 19, 2023, when Stephanie Sparkowski was voted Goalkeeper of the Week. She is the first field player to earn the offensive player of the week honor since Lily Farkas on Aug. 30, 2022.
• Alabama is led by senior forward Gianna Paul, who was named to the Hermann Trophy Watch List in the preseason. The 2024 All-SEC selection leads the Crimson Tide with two goals and an assist through two games.
• Michigan will continue its SEC road trip on Sunday, Aug. 24, when it takes on Georgia at noon.
