
U-M Earns All-America Honors on Second Night of NCAA Championships

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -- The No. 8-ranked University of Michigan women's swimming and diving team wrapped up the second day of competition at the NCAA Championships on Thursday (March 20) at Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center. The Wolverines are in seventh place heading into day three with 92 points.
In the individual swims, Letitia Sim reached the consolation final of the 200-yard IM and finished 14th overall with a time of 1:55.34. Brady Kendall and Lindsay Flynn swam in the 50-yard freestyle 'B' final. Kendall won the heat with a time of 21.53 seconds and finished ninth, while Flynn posted a mark of 21.71 and secured 13th place.
Michigan finished fourth in the 200-yard freestyle relay as the team of Stephanie Balduccini, Flynn, Kendall and Claire Newman combined to post a time of 1:26.04 to set a new program record and earn All-America recognition.
Michigan will be back in action Friday (March 21) for the third day of the NCAA Championships at Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center. Preliminaries will start at 10 a.m. PT, with finals getting underway at 6 p.m. PT.
