
U-M Set for Regular-Season Ending Silverson Invite; DMR Headed to Alex Wilson Invite

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's track and field team will close out the regular season with a pair of meets, hosting the Silverston Invitational on Friday (Feb. 21) at the U-M Indoor Track Building. The Wolverines will also send a distance medley relay team to the Alex Wilson Invitational hosted by Notre Dame on Saturday (Feb. 22) at the Loftus Sports Center. On Friday, field action will begin at 4 p.m. and track action at 4:10 p.m., while the DMR team will race on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. in South Bend, Ind.

• The shot put squad continues to sit at No. 5 in the latest USTFCCCA Event Squad rankings.
• U-M split between a pair of meets last weekend, sending the distance squad to the David Hemery Valentine Invitational at Boston University, and the rest of the team went to the Tiger Paw Invitational at Clemson.
• Amare Harlan saw a pair of top-10 marks on the program performers list, coming in at No. 4 in the 200-meter dash (23.55 seconds) and No. 6 in the long jump (6.16 meters/20 feet, 2.5 inches).
• Freshman Payton Smith also logged a top-10 program mark, with her personal-best time of 52.94 coming in at No. 4.
• In the 60-meter hurdles, Aasia Laurencin posted a season-best time of 8.04 in the semifinals to come just 0.05 seconds shy of tying her personal best. The time is the seventh-best in the NCAA.
• Maya Anderson jumped for a personal best 5.73m (18-9.75) in the long jump.
• In Boston, Mary Caroline Heinen shaved nearly 30 seconds off her personal best with a time of 15:557.37 to earn a 25th-place finish in the 5,000-meter run. The time is No. 4 on the program performers list and No. 6 in the Big Ten.
