Notes
• The Wolverines have won nine of their last 10 matches, and defeated Washington and Oregon over the last week. On Thursday (Nov. 20), Michigan rallied from two sets down to reverse-sweep Washington behind three double-doubles in the match. U-M followed it up with a four-set win over Oregon on Saturday (Nov. 22), which saw the Wolverines record 11 blocks.
• Michigan will honor a five-person senior class against USC -- Jacyn Bamis, Maddi Cuchran, Allison Jacobs, Serena Nyambio and Amalia Simmons. Bamis spent one year with the program, while Jacobs, Nyambio and Simmons have been at Michigan for four seasons. Cuchran is in her fifth season with the team.
• U-M is currently tied for sixth place in the Big Ten conference with Minnesota and Penn State. Statistically, Michigan is third in the conference in total blocks with 260 and sixth in blocks per set at 2.45. The Wolverines rank in the top half of the conference in six more categories, including total kills (6th, 1,426) and hitting percentage (6th, 0.279).
• Jacobs recorded more than 20 kills in both matches on the West Coast, with 24 at Washington and 21 against Oregon. The graduate student leads Michigan and is fourth in the conference with 422 kills this season. Jacobs is also fourth in points with 485, and fifth in kills per set (4.02) and points per set (4.62).
• Nyambio tallied 15 blocks over the last two matches, leading the Big Ten over the past week. She passed 400 career blocks at Oregon, and now has 403 in her career with 50 solo blocks and 353 block assists. The senior ranks fifth in career hitting percentage (0.313), eighth in career total blocks and tied for seventh in career block assists.
• Cuchran recorded two double-doubles over the weekend for the first two of her career. The graduate student recently recorded her 1,000 career dig against Michigan State. On the West Coast, Cuchran had 15 digs and 10 assists in both matches, leading U-M in digs. She has 358 digs this season and 135 assists this season -- along with 20 aces.
• Ella Demetrician totaled 29 kills over the two West Coast matches, with 18 in five sets against Washington and 11 in four sets at Oregon. Eighteen kills matched Demetrician's career high, which she set earlier this year on Oct. 31 against Penn State. The sophomore added 12 digs against the Ducks for a double-double. She ranks second on the team in kills this season with 254.
• Jenna Hanes had 13 kills over the past two matches and has at least five kills in the past six matches. Hanes has just 11 errors and is hitting .457 in conference play. She has added 102 blocks this season in 102 sets with 18 solo blocks and 84 block assists. Â
• This season, Michigan is running a 6-2 system with Morgan Burke and Camille Edwards serving as U-M's setter. Burke has 710 assists this season with 29 aces while Edwards has 209 assists with seven aces. Against Oregon, Burke recorded a double-double with 26 assists and 15 digs.
• UCLA is 16-12 on the season with a 10-8 conference record. The Bruins lost to Washington most recently, but won their previous two. All-time, Michigan is 1-4 against UCLA, with the lone win coming in five sets in Los Angeles last season.
• USC is 22-6 this season with a 13-5 conference record. The Trojans have won 11 of their last 12 matches, with the only loss coming to No. 1-ranked Nebraska. The Wolverines have only faced USC twice, dropping both, one in four sets in 2017 and last season in five sets.
