KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The No. 7-ranked University of Michigan women's swimming and diving team split a pair of meets on Saturday (Nov. 22) at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center, falling to No. 1-ranked Virginia, 43-1, before defeating No. 8-ranked Tennessee, 27-17, to advance to the championship round of the CSCAA Dual Meet Challenge.
Against Virginia, Bella Sims finished second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:41.17, lowering her season-best mark in the event.
Brady Kendall improved her season-best time in the 50-yard freestyle with a 21.34, while Hannah Bellard posted a 2025-26 best in the 200-yard butterfly with a 1:52.77.
Michigan opened its matchup with Tennessee by winning the 200-yard medley relay, as the team of Sims, Letitia Sim, Kendall and Leila Fack set a new school record in 1:33.65.
Stephanie Balduccini secured her first victory of the day with a 1:41.85 in the 200-yard freestyle, and Sims followed with a win in the 200-yard IM in 1:54.59.
Bellard added another first-place finish, winning the 500-yard freestyle in 4:35.55, trimming more than 11 seconds off her previous season best. Sims later captured the 200-yard backstroke with a 1:51.96.
Michigan closed out the dual with a win in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The foursome of Balduccini, Fack, Lexi Greenhawt and Kendall recorded a time of 1:25.99, establishing another program record.
With the victory, the Wolverines will face top-ranked Virginia for the second time in the meet on Sunday (Nov. 23) at 12:45 p.m. for the CSCAA Dual Meet Challenge championship.
