Max Dahlin continued his run as he dispatched his second straight opponent in the Round of 32. He took down seeded Jack Loutit of Kentucky in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3. By advancing to the third round, Dahlin earns All-America honors.
The redshirt freshman broke Loutit in the opening set, but the Wildcat broke back on Dahlin's first service. The two held serve until Dahlin broke Loutit again at 4-3 and consolidated it to gain a 5-3 advantage. Loutit grabbed one more game, but Dahlin clinched the match on his serve.
The second set saw each trade games to sit at 3-3 before Dahlin went on a tear, winning three straight games to take the 6-3 set and the match.
Just a few hours later, Dahlin and partner Bjorn Swenson faced off in the first round of the doubles tournament and cruised to a win over Rice's Petro Kuzmenok and Santiago Navarro, winning 6-2, 6-2. Dahlin and Swenson broke on the opening serve to take a 2-0 lead in the first set and used another break late in the set to win 6-2. Momentum continued as the Wolverine pair used another break to grab a 4-0 advantage in the second set and rode it to another 6-2 win.
