Big Ten Freshman of the Week
» Max Dahlin qualified for the NCAA Singles Championship in his first collegiate appearance.
» Dahlin made the final of the ITA Midwest Regional Championships, going 5-0 in singles, beginning with straight-set wins over Brandon Carpico (Ohio State), Peter Nad (Notre Dame) and Collin Beduhn (Wisconsin) in the first three rounds.
» He topped Chase Thompson (Notre Dame) 6-4, 6-2 in the quarterfinal and won a marathon over Sebastian Dominko (Notre Dame) in the semifinal. After falling 6-3 in the first set, Dahlin won 6-3 in the second set and won 7-6 (10) in the deciding third set.
Oct. 8 -- Nicholas Steiglehner, Arnav Bhandari
Big Ten Player of the Week
» Nicholas Steiglehner captured the Hope RSM Dominant Duo title this weekend alongside partner Bjorn Swenson.
» The pair went 4-0 in doubles, including a win over a ranked Notre Dame duo, while Steiglehner also went 4-0 in singles for a combined 8-0 record.
» He earned singles victories over players from Northwestern, Notre Dame, and Illinois before defeating a teammate in straight sets in the championship match.
» In doubles, Steiglehner and Swenson claimed a 6-1 victory in the title match, also defeating pairs from Notre Dame, Northwestern, and Illinois.
Big Ten Freshman of the Week
» Arnav Bhandari opened his collegiate career by reaching the singles final at the Hope RSM Dominant Duo.
» Bhandari went 3-1 in singles and 2-2 in doubles with partner Mert Oral.
» He won three straight singles matches to advance to the final, where he fell to Steiglehner.
» In doubles, Bhandari and Oral earned a 6-0 win over a Northwestern duo and another victory against a mixed-team pair before falling to Notre Dame and to their Michigan teammates in the final.
