Notes
• Michigan leads 17-4-6 in the all-time series with Iowa, with its last loss to the Hawkeyes coming in 2018. Four of the last five meetings have ended in ties, and 16 of the last 17 matchups have been one-goal games.
• Last time out, Michigan secured three points at home with a 1-0 shutout over Minnesota. The Wolverines earned their second conference win behind Elle Ervin's first-half header and a penalty save by Sophie Homan to keep them ahead.
• Michigan has leaned on its top two attackers, Ervin and Gabrielle Prych, who combine for 10 of Michigan's 14 total goals this season. Ervin and Prych are tied for the fifth-best goal-scoring duo in the Big Ten and are both top 10 in the conference in goals scored.
• Homan has logged four clean sheets and ranks third in the Big Ten with 48 saves while facing the second-most shots in the conference (146). The two-time B1G Goalkeeper of the Week has six or more saves in four different games this season, most recently extending her personal best to nine saves against Nebraska last Thursday.
• Ervin is tied for 10th in the Big Ten with 12 points, also ranking eighth in shots (31) and fourth in shots on target (17). She is the highest-scoring Michigan sophomore since Sammi Woods totaled 14 points with five goals in 2021.
• Michigan is looking for its first win of the season against a ranked foe and is 50-78-23 all-time against ranked opponents, including an 0-2 mark against No. 10 teams. This is the first meeting between the two programs when Iowa is included in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 poll.
• Iowa comes into Saturday's matchup having won three of its last four games and holding a 4-1-1 record at home this season. The Hawkeyes have been solid on both sides of the pitch, posting the second-best goal differential in the Big Ten and ranking fourth in the conference standings.
• Michigan will return to action on Thursday (Oct. 9) for a home matchup against Michigan State at 7 p.m. The in-state rivalry game will take place at U-M Soccer Stadium and stream live on B1G+.
