
Wolverines Conclude Home Slate with Silverston Invitational

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's track and field team closed out its regular-season home slate for the indoor season on Friday (Feb. 16) with the Silverston Invitational.
Dante Bassham and Amit Rutman advanced to the 60-meter dash finals after going 1-2 in the preliminaries. Bassham won the finals with a personal best of 6.80 while Rutman finished sixth with a time of 7.05. Rutman saw a personal-best time of 22.01 in the 200-meter dash for a second-place finish.
U-M saw two season bests in the 400-meter dash, with Lawrence Gilliam finishing second (48.96) and Nick Butler-Simpson finishing fourth (49.42). In the 600-meter run, John O'Reilly earned first-place finish (1:18.81) while Christian Pulselli finished fifth with a personal-best time of 1:21.90. Peter Baracco and Nolan Clark both posted personal bests in the mile run, with Baracco finishing third (4:09.10) and Clark finishing sixth (4:13.59).
Luke Stowasser took second in the high jump, clearing 1.95m (6-4.75). The throws earned two podium finishes, with Zane Forist winning the shot put (16.89m) and Eli Winter placing second with a personal-best mark of 20.71m (67-11.5).
The Maize and Blue will close out its regular-season indoor slate with the Alex Wilson Invitational hosted by Notre Dame on Saturday, Feb. 17.
