Notes
• Olivia Olson (23) and Mila Holloway (21) each reached the 20-point mark against Central Michigan (Nov. 14) for the first 20-point games of their career. They join classmate Syla Swords, who has a pair of 20-point games, as Wolverine freshmen to reach the 20-point plateau this season. As of Nov. 15, there have been 22 20-point performances by freshmen, with Michigan owning four of them. Swords is one of two freshmen nationally with two 20-point games. Michigan is the only school with multiple freshmen reaching 20 points in a game this season.
• Olson scored in double figures for the first time in her career with 17 points against Lehigh (Nov. 8). She followed that up with the first 20-point game of her young career, going for 23 points on 9-for-14 shooting against Central Michigan (Nov. 14). On the strength of back-to-back double-figure games, she is up to 15 points per game on 46.2 percent shooting. Olson is third on the team in scoring and 21st in the Big Ten. Among Big Ten freshmen, she ranks third in scoring.
• Holloway has taken over the starting point guard role and has impacted the Wolverines in a variety of ways. She scored a career-best 21 points against Central Michigan (Nov. 14), hitting three triples and making 10 free throws en route to her best scoring performance of the season. She also recorded game highs in assists (eight) and steals (five). Holloway has led Michigan in assists in each of its three games and is averaging 6.3 assists per game, first in the Big Ten among freshmen and second overall.
• Swords was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week and the Tamika Catchings National Freshman of the Week by the USWBA after averaging 23.5 points, nine rebounds and 3.5 assists per game to begin her collegiate career last week.
• Swords has scored in double figures in all three games, averaging 19.3 points per game, good for ninth in the conference and second among freshmen.Â
• For the first time this season, all five of Michigan's starters scored in double figures in U-M's win over Central Michigan (Nov. 14).
• Michigan has recorded double-digit steals in back-to-back games, going for 14 against Lehigh (Nov. 8) and 12 against Central Michigan (Nov. 14). It is the first time Michigan has had at least 10 steals in consecutive games since doing it for three straight games to open the 2022-23 season.
• Brooke Quarles Daniels will face her former team when Michigan hosts Oakland. In addition, Oakland freshman Jaidyn Elam played her four years of high school basketball at Detroit Country Day alongside head coach Kim Barnes Arico's daughter Emma, who is now playing lacrosse at Michigan.
• Greta Kampschroeder turned in a season-best 14 points against Central Michigan (Nov. 14), hitting four triples en route to her first double-figure scoring game of the season. She is averaging 6.3 points and 4.0 rebounds in 24.6 minutes per game.
