
Wolverines to Travel to Xfinity Center for Tilt With Terrapins

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's basketball team (6-9, 1-3 Big Ten) heads to College Park to take on Maryland in a Thursday night (Jan. 11) contest at Xfinity Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m., and the game will be broadcast live on FS1.
Notes
• Michigan is playing its ninth game away from Ann Arbor when it travels to College Park. This season, U-M is 2-4 on neutral courts and 1-1 in true road games.
The Wolverines are 13-8 all-time against Maryland and have won five of the last six games in the series.
• In the last meeting between U-M and Maryland, Hunter Dickinson notched his third straight double-double (19 points, 10 rebounds), but the Wolverines fell 64-58 at Xfinity Center. After tying the game at 44 with 11 minutes to play, the Terps went on a 15-5 run to take a 10-point that U-M could not overcome.
• U-M's 81.7 points-per-game average is the best for the Maize and Blue in 31 years. The last time U-M closed a season averaging above 80 points was during the 1992-93 season (81.94) -- Juwan Howard and the Fab Five's freshman season.
• A native of Clinton, Md., Terrance Williams II returns to the DMV for his fifth career game against Maryland. He has two starts in his prior four matchups with the Terps and has averaged six points, 5.3 rebounds and shot 62.5 percent from the field. Last year at the Xfinity Center, Williams scored nine points while grabbing a career-best 13 rebounds with two assists. Washington, D.C., native Dug McDaniel also is returning to the DMV. He has played in two games against Maryland, averaging six points and 5.5 assists per game.
• Olivier Nkamhoua needs 15 points (985) to reach 1,000 for his collegiate career. In his graduate season, he surpassed 125 career games and reached the 500-rebound plateau (542). Nkamhoua has produced double figures with five-plus rebounds in 14 of 15 games, including a run of nine straight. Overall, he averages 16.8 points and a team-best 7.8 rebounds.
• With his expected start at Maryland, Williams will become the 75th Wolverines to reach the 100-game plateau. Williams, who averages 12.7 points per game, has two 20-plus point games in his last three, including a career-best 24 at Penn State (Jan. 7) at the Palestra. Prior to this stretch, he had just one 20-plus game over his first three seasons.
• Over his last six games, Williams has half of his season total of three-pointers (17), with six games of three-plus during this stretch. Overall, he is tied for the team lead with 34. In his three prior seasons, Williams had 38 total.
• In his last game at Penn State, Nimari Burnett had a career-best six assists. He is third on U-M with 38 total (2.5 apg). He added two steals against the Nittany Lions to take over the team lead with 16. Over his last four games, Burnett has half of his season total (eight), including a career-best five vs. Florida (Dec. 19) at the Jumpman Invitational.
