
Michigan Men to Head to South Bend for Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's cross country team will compete for the second time in seven days when it travels to South Bend, Ind., to take part in the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invite on Friday (Sept. 29) at 1:30 p.m.
Notes
• Michigan will be competing in the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invite for the fourth straight full season dating back to 2019.
• Last year, the Wolverines finished eighth of 21 teams with 217 points in the Blue Division race.
• Tom Brady has paced the Michigan men through the first two meets of the 2023 campaign, most recently posting an 8K time of 23:45.4 at the Virginia Invitational on Sept. 23.
• On Friday, seven members of the Maize and Blue will be competing in the Gold Division race, including freshman Owen McKenzie, who will be making his Michigan debut.
• Six runners are set to race unattached in the open division, five freshmen and senior Zach Stewart. Stewart will take part in a meet for the first time in 2023 on Friday.
• Following the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invite, Michigan will head to Madison, Wis., for the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational on Oct. 13.
