
Sim Captures 100 Breaststroke 'B' Final, Michigan 21st After Three Days at NCAAs

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The University of Michigan women's swimming and diving team is in 21st place after the third night of the NCAA Championships on Friday (March 17) at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center.
Letitia Sim, the only Wolverine in the individual final on night three, led from start to finish first in the 'B' final of the 100-yard breaststroke and ninth overall with a time of 58.48.
In the 400-yard medley relay, the team of Noelle Kaufmann, Sim, Brady Kendall and Lindsay Flynn swam a blistering 3:30.52 to finish 12th to earn All-America honorable mention.
In the 400-yard individual medley prelims, Kathryn Ackerman got the Wolverines started with a first-place finish in the second heat, swimming a 4:12.83, but finished 29th overall. Devon Kitchel finished 39th overall with a time of 4:16.96.
Up next was Natalie Kan in the 100-yard butterfly. She finished with a time of 52.57 to finish 35th. In the 200-yard freestyle, Katie Crom went 1:45.54 to place 26th in the prelims.
On the diving side, Kiarra Milligan finished with a score of 276.80 to place 29th on the three-meter springboard.
The Wolverines will return to the pool Saturday (March 18) for the final day of the NCAA Championships at Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center. Prelims start at 10 a.m., and the finals start at 6 p.m.
