
NCAA Championships Await Michigan Men

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 23-ranked University of Michigan's men's cross country team will travel to Charlottesville, Va., for the NCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday (Nov. 18). Â The men's 10k race is scheduled for 11:10 a.m. and will be broadcast live on ESPNU and the ESPN app.
Notes
• U-M will face off against the best cross country teams from around the country, including Big Ten opponent No. 5 Wisconsin and regional foes No. 8 Butler and No. 21 Notre Dame.Â
• Saturday will be the second time the Maize and Blue will compete at Panorama Farms this season after placing 14th at the Virginia Invitational.
• Head Coach Kevin Sullivan will bring his best nine runners with seven competing on Saturday. The roster includes four All-Region honorees in graduate student Tom Brady, graduate student Nick Foster, graduate student Owen MacKenzie and sophomore Luke Venhuizen.
• Brady is Michigan's leading returner (60th, 29:51.1) from last year's NCAA Championships. Brady has paced the Wolverines in every race he has started this season, including a third-place finish at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional on Nov. 10.
• Foster bounced back in the Great Lakes Regional, finishing 16th overall with a time of 30:10.1 in his first 10k race of the season.
• In his regional debut, MacKenzie clocked a time of 30:11.7 to place 18th and earn All-Region recognition.
• Venhuizen finished 24th last week in Madison, Wis., with a time of 30:18.9 to earn his first career All-Region honor.
• Caleb Jarema has finished fifth or better on the team in all of his starts in 2023, highlighted by an 11th-place finish (24:39.0) at the Big Ten Championships on Oct. 27.
