MADISON, Wis. -- The University of Michigan men's cross country team wrapped up competition at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational on Friday (Oct. 13) at Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course. U-M tallied 427 points as a team to finish 15th against top competition.
For the third time this season, graduate student Tom Brady logged the top time for Michigan, clocking a 24:01.5 to finish 37th overall. Nick Foster surpassed his previous time at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational by more than 30 seconds, posting a 24:15.3 on Friday.
Luke Venhuizen and Owen MacKenzie stuck together and finished two seconds apart, registering marks of 24:22.0 and 24:24.5, respectively. In his Michigan debut, freshman Nathan Lopez crossed the line at 24:38.7.
Twelve Michigan men, nine in uniform and three competing unattached, took part in the 8K B race, with Anthony Hancock leading the way for the Maize and Blue with a time of 25:07.2.
Next Friday (Oct. 20) at 4 p.m., a small group of Wolverines will head to Dexter, Mich., for the second time this season for the EMU Fall Classic at the Hudson Mills Metropark.
