
Michigan Gears Up for Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's cross country team will take on some of the top teams in the nation at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational on Friday (Oct. 13) at 1 p.m. CDT at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Course in Madison, Wis.
Notes
• The Wolverines will be competing against 19 nationally ranked teams, including eight of the top 10 teams in the country.
• Friday's meet marks the sixth consecutive full season the Wolverines will take part in the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational. U-M will look for its best finish in that span since finishing eighth in 2021.
• After a one-meet absence, Tom Brady will return and lead the Michigan men. Brady has paced the team in both races he has participated in this season. Last time out, Brady posted a career-best 8K time of 23:45.4 at the Virginia Invitational on Sept. 23.
• Like Brady, Nick Foster logged a personal-best time on an 8K course at the Virginia Invitational, clocking a 23:49.2 and finishing 32nd overall.
• Owen MacKenzie will look to build on his second-place result at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invite on Sept. 29. In his Michigan debut, MacKenzie posted a five-mile time of 24:13.7, finishing three seconds behind Notre Dame's Vincent Mauri.
• Freshman Nathan Lopez is set to make his collegiate debut on Friday. While competing unattached, Lopez won the Men's Open Race at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invite, registering a time of 24:14.4 on the five-mile course.
• Oli Raimond will race Friday for the first time in 2023. In 2022, Raimond set a personal best at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational, finishing with a mark of 24.12.2.
• Following the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational, the Wolverines will return to Hudson Mills Metropark in Dexter, Mich., for the EMU Fall Classic on Oct. 20.
