The University of Michigan men's tennis team hosts Western Michigan on Friday (Jan. 21) at the Varsity Tennis Center. The match is slated to begin at 6 p.m.
Wolverine Bites
• Michigan is 1-0 after starting the spring season Sunday (Jan. 16) with a 5-2 win over Virginia Tech.
• Ranked No. 17 in the nation, Michigan won five singles matches at Nos. 2-6
• Ondrej Styler earned a win at No. 2 singles as he improved to 5-1 and owns the best win percentage on the team.
• Gavin Young recorded his first dual win at No. 5 and is now 10-2 this season.
• Styler and Young paired up at No. 2 doubles and earned a 6-4 win over the Hokies.
• Jacob Bickersteth played at his highest singles spot -- No. 3 -- earning a win. He also made his dual doubles debut, teaming with Patrick Maloney, also at the No. 3 spot.
• Nino Ehrenschneider is now 5-2 in singles after he grabbed a singles victory at No. 6.

Series History
Michigan holds a 57-8 all-time record versus Western Michigan. The Wolverines have won the last eight matches with Western's last victory in the series coming in 2003.
Scouting the Broncos
Western is off to a 2-0 start this spring after matching 6-1 wins over Butler and Ferris State last Saturday on home court. The Broncos will play a Wednesday evening match at Notre Dame before heading to Ann Arbor for Friday's tilt.
Freshman Anton Arzhankin is 2-0 with matches at both No. 1 and 2 coming off of a 9-1 fall. Brogan Pierce is now 12-4, winning his matches at No. 5 and 6 last weekend. Also off to 2-0 singles starts are Fynn Lohse and Jackson Boone. In doubles Arjun Honnappa and Lohse are 2-0 at the No. 1 position, while Pierce and Arzhankin are 2-0 at No. 3.
