STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- The University of Michigan women's soccer team's Big Ten Regional Weekend match against Indiana has been deemed a no-contest, as mutually agreed upon by both teams due to health and safety concerns in the Michigan program. The decision was made out of an abundance of caution and after consultation with medical experts.
As a result, Michigan is eliminated from the Regional Weekend, while Indiana advances to play Penn State in the regional final Sunday (April 11).
Michigan and Indiana were originally scheduled to play Thursday (April 8) at Penn State's Jeffrey Field, but the match was postponed a day before ultimately being declared a no-contest.
The Wolverines finish the conference-only 2020-21 season with a 5-3-3 record. U-M tied for seventh in the closely bunched Big Ten standings.
