
Conway Named WCGA Regional Administrator of the Year

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- University of Michigan Senior Associate AD and Chief Health and Welfare Officer Darryl Conway has been named the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches Association (WCGA) Northeast Regional Co-Administrator of the Year along with New Hampshire's Michelle Bronner it was announced Wednesday (April 7).
Conway oversees all health and welfare for U-M athletics, which includes oversight of athletic trainers, strength and conditioning staff, equipment, and serves as the conduit to the medical staff.
"We are so incredibly grateful to Darryl and his amazing staff for their endless hours of hard work and commitment to giving us the opportunity to compete this season," said head coach Bev Plocki. "Without his efforts, we would never have been able to enjoy this privilege."
This year, Conway has overseen a comprehensive COVID-19 testing program that will eclipse 100,000 tests this week as well as the care of and logistics for individuals who test positive for the virus. He works closely with medical experts at the University, Washtenaw County and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to ensure that U-M Athletics is responding quickly to changes and updates in health protocols.
