ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's basketball team (16-7, 7-5 B1G) returns to Crisler Center to close the season series against Northwestern, hosting the No. 19-ranked Wildcats (20-3, 10-2 B1G) Thursday (Feb. 13). Tip is set for 7 p.m.
• Michigan has won three straight games to get above .500 in conference play at 7-5. U-M is tied for fifth place in the conference with Rutgers and Ohio State. Michigan is up to 34 in the RPI in the latest NCAA release. The Wolverines are trying for their second win over a ranked opponent this season against No. 19 Northwestern, which enters Crisler on a three-game winning streak.
• Michigan dished out a season-high 25 assists on 32 field goals in a 77-52 win at Minnesota (Feb. 10). It was the first time U-M reached the 20-assist mark since going for 22 against Kansas State in last year's NCAA Tournament (March 22, 2019). Amy Dilk handed out eight, with Naz Hillmon and Maddie Nolan each going for a career-best five dimes on the evening. Michigan also committed a season-low seven turnovers in the game, its second game this season under 10.
• For the eighth time this season, Michigan shot at least 50 percent from the floor in a 54.2 percent performance at Minnesota (Feb. 10). It was the fifth time in Big Ten action that Michigan has topped the 50 percent mark. On the season, U-M is fourth in the conference (16th nationally) in field goal percentage (.459) and second in conference games only at 46.2 percent. Individually, Naz Hillmon is second in the league and 22nd nationally in field goal percentage at .562.
• Junior Hailey Brown has heated up from downtown in conference action, hitting 26 three-pointers on 38.8 percent shooting. In conference games, Brown is eighth in three-point field goal percentage and fifth in triples per game (2.2). For her career, Brown has made 92 triples on 37.7 percent shooting from downtown.
• Michigan and No. 19 Northwestern are meeting for the second time in two weeks, with Northwestern winning an 81-73 contest Jan. 30 in Evanston, Illinois. NU is averaging 71.0 points per game on 43.4 percent shooting while allowing 55.9 points per game on 36.8 percent shooting. The Wildcats have four players scoring in double figures: Lindsey Pulliam (19.7 ppg), Abi Scheid (11.6 ppg), Abbie Wolf (11.6 ppg) and Veronica Burton (10.7 ppg).
